What the Number 18 Means

The number 18 in Youth 18 refers to its permanent community framework: 15 national communities plus three regional communities. It is not an age reference.

The 18 communities form the permanent geographic structure through which Youth 18 accepts eligible members and Fellowship candidates, organises participation and connects leadership across borders and disciplines.

Three regional communities extend Youth 18 across wider areas of shared institutional, economic and cultural connection.

Community Affiliation

Each Fellow is associated with one primary Youth 18 community. Community affiliation reflects a substantive national or regional connection and supports balanced international participation.

Youth 18 is a non-governmental organisation. Members participate in their personal and professional capacities and contribute knowledge, judgement and community perspective.
